In 2007, I decided to redesign the DrewsAnimals.com website. I had thought about doing it in the past, but had not remembered getting very far. I looked back to see where I had stopped. Surprise! I had actually built more than I remembered.
Have you ever started something only to come back to it later with new eyes and a new perspective?
This is not the only time I have decided to pursue something that I had started and abandoned in the past. It happened again recently when I decided that I needed to do some research and create a database of information.
While I was poking around on my hard drive trying to clean up the extra clutter, I came across files full of information that I had completely forgotten existed. It happened just when I restarted the project. Talk about timing!
Every now and then it’s like the fog lifts from between my ears, and I see things from a whole new perspective. I have insights that I should have known before, and I return to abandoned directions with more boldness and wisdom than I ever thought possible.
It’s like something clicks. All the parts come together. What I once struggled to understand is now all clear. I know what I need to do. Resources show up when and where I need them. God’s timing begins to bring all things together.
Consider how God worked in the following passage.
And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.
Exodus 35:30-33
When Bezaleel needed wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and workmanship, God provided. I wonder if he felt like a fog had lifted between his ears too? I’m sure he felt it was all clear to him what he needed to do.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James 1:5-6
Sometimes we get stuck in life. We need knowledge, wisdom or both. God is the giver of both. Let us remember to ask Him.
LIFE APPLICATION
Today’s challenge is to look at your life. Where are you stuck? Ask God for wisdom, but remember that everything happens in His timing. Be patient. Know that when you need to know, God will give you the answer. Don’t be afraid to set something aside and wait on the Lord. Know that when the time is right, you’ll have the wisdom and the knowledge to accomplish what God has for you to do. At that time, it still may not be easy, but it will be a lot easier than it is right now. God will make the way.
