Has God ever asked you to do something that you had no idea how to do? Maybe you did not even know where to begin. Perhaps the whole task seemed like an overwhelming chore that you could not begin to wrap your mind around.
What did you do? Is God still waiting on you?
Every now and then I look back across my life. The last 10 years have truly been a blessing. I’ve come a long way in 10 years. So much has been accomplished.
I have come to realize that much that has happened over the last 3 years would have seemed impossible in my eyes. If God had told me what His plan was for me 3 years ago, I think it would have overwhelmed me. I would have said that there was no way I could have achieved it.
As I look back, I see clearly something else. Where God said go over the last 3 years, and over the last 10 years as well, I went. The doors that opened, God opened. God provided direction all the way and in every detail. Many of the opportunities found me. I did not always seek them out. God’s hand has been on it all.
What do you see when you look back at your life? Do you see growth in your relationship with Jesus? Do you see times you stepped out in faith to follow His lead? Do you see places that you’ve made God wait? Do you see times when you could have walked with God, but instead you drug your feet?
Remember what God told Moses at the burning bush?
And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
Exodus 3:7-12
God gave Moses a tremendous task to do, but God also told Moses that He would be with him.
LIFE APPLICATION
Today’s challenge is to ask yourself if God has asked you to do something for Him that you have not begun. Identify anything that is holding you back. Is it information? Is it ability? Is it resources?
Now that you’ve answered that, ask God how He plans to provide for it. Ask God what direction He would have you to go. Ask God where you can go for those additional skills or resources.
Believe God for the answer. God always provides for His work. He will be with you.
