Along the way, we should all stop from time to time and say thank you to those God has used to make a positive difference in our lives.
Sometimes it’s our turn, and we have the opportunity to reach out and make a difference for someone else. Sometimes the simplest thing at the right time can make a major impact.
Who do you need to thank today? Who do you need to help today?
I took a new position in an organization recently. One very encouraging thing that was said to me was something like, “We won’t let you fail.” I found that really comforting.
I have also had a number of folks check in with me to see that I had all the bases covered. I have really appreciated that more than I can say.
You see, the position I took on at the end of August really started at the beginning of July. I have had to get up to speed fast! Since God blessed me by surrounding me with all the right folks, getting up to speed has been really easy to do. These awesome folks have helped me to be sure I was on track. They’ve been there for me even before I knew I needed them.
In our Christian walk, it is important to surround ourselves with folks that encourage and inspire us to be our best for Jesus. Therefore, it’s important that we choose our closest friends and associates carefully.
What kind of friend are you? What kind of friends have you chosen?
Do seek to provide the solution? Or do you always bring a problem with you? Are you encouraging, or are you always a drag on those around you because of your negativity? Do you focus on helping? Do you always focus on being helped? Do you inspire folks to do the right thing? Do you tempt them toward evil?
What kind of difference are YOU making?
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Hebrews 3:12-13
This next verse is about worshipping together and fellowshipping together.
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25
The support we find from likeminded believers does not have to start and stop at the church steps. It is important that we continue it throughout the week.
LIFE APPLICATION
Key Focal Verse:
We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
1 John 4:19-21
Today’s challenge is to tell someone that they have made a positive difference in your life. Thank them for taking the time to be there for you. Then go find someone to help yourself. See if you can make a difference for them today.
